High Tease has seen many of the new variety, cabaret and burlesque stars tread the boards, launch and rise to fame and glory , rendering the show a much coveted engagement for performers internationally. With no two shows being exactly alike,  forthcoming High Tease shows will showcase a selection of High Tease veteran stars and carefully selected special guests including:

dustyDusty Limits

Dusty Limits is a singer, comedian and drunken raconteur and one of the leading figures on the ‘new cabaret’ scene. He made his European debut in 1999, and since then has graced numerous stages from London to Dublin to Berlin to New York and drops in to host High Tease too. He sings everything from Cole Porter to Portishead, from satire to chansons, often with the words changed. He also sings original songs, frequently with macabre and darkly comic themes.

vickyVicky Butterfly

Part Burlesque starlet, part innovative performance artiste, part music hall Vaudevillian, and all dreamer. But don’t be fooled by her impish allure – Vicky Butterfly’s elegant, classic style comes with a twist.

True to the original spirit of Burlesque and Vaudeville, her beautifully choreographed routines take in everything from the ethereal, the breath-taking and the beautiful to the macabre and the comic.

doloresDolores Delight

At only 60 inches tall, Dolores is a sultry pocket sized cabaret siren with a voice to raise the roof with her versatile look, glamorous and eclectic wardrobe and enigmatic voice. Dolores was classically trained in dance from a very young age and has spent over half her lifetime working as a professional actress on television, film and in West End theatre. With a large repertoire of songs ranging from Billie Holliday to Ella Fitzerald and Chicago to Cabaret, there’s no way you could ever tire of listening to this sultry songstress as she takes you through the classics but with her unique style of rock ‘n roll attitude with ‘old school’ charm.

This Hot Totty is one of the finest character performers, poi swinger and fire teasers to have emerged over the past 10 years. A well seasoned, multi talented performer. She is truly an internationally burning hot star. One who has scorched her way into the public psyche with her eclectic skills and avant-garde style. Red Sarah is also an exceptional stilt walker, meet and greet entertainer and fantastic living sculpture with an ever growing wardrobe of costumes.

Kitsch Kats are a high energy, dynamic dance duo that combine the elements of Vaudeville and Dance – with a modern twist. From a pair of camp disco trolley-dollies to twisting hairdressers and from jiving sailors to ‘Hot, Hot’ Hot!’ pizza delivery inspired contemporary dance routines, The Kitsch Kats are the most talked about act to have emerged on the Scottish burlesque, cabaret and variety circuits in an age. Already with a dedicated local following, this goregous pair of terpsochorean masters will be the festival insiders most treasured secret.

A comic and musical character actor with a wealth of personal skills including his exceptional dreamy singing voice, good looks and talent for mimicry, Jim is an outstanding entertainer. As he morphs in to character, disappearing behind a handlebar moustache or dissolving in to a spectacular rhinestone encrusted jumpsuit, Jim deftly creates diverse ‘illusions of personality’. Combining comedy, satire and song he portrays a canon of lovable characters in creative new ways. Not only a frighteningly talented individual, but one with such intense charisma and audience rapport that must be enjoyed first hand.

Sarah-Louise Young is an actress, singer and stand-up. For the past seven years she has performed in cabaret venues across London including the Jermyn Street Theatre, Old Vic Pit Bar and The Theatre Museum combining songs and stand-up. As an actress she has performed in the National Theatre, the Royal Exchange Theatre and in the West End. Television credits include Strictly Confidential, No Angels, The Jury, Casualty, Holby City and Doctors. She also worked on The Adam & Shelley Show, directed by Tim Kirkby with whom she worked on the feature film THE BLIND SPOT and BAFTA winning LOOK AROUND YOU.

gypsyGypsy Charms

Gypsy Charms is the director of the Ministry of Burlesque Academy. A pioneer in her field she was the first burlesque teacher to work with the prestigious National Dance Agency in the UK and has created original courses in burlesque striptease, burlesque/cabaret performance and male burlesque. Frequently invited to produce creative labs and public displays for prestigious dance bodies, she is a sought after choreographer and performer. Gypsy is also completing a Doctoral research project which examines ‘striptease and power’. With expertise in dance, physical comedy and striptease she has an enviable versatility and is regarded as the UK’s foremost expert teaching authority.

As an international showgirl of many years,  a leading speciality expert in chair based routines and the CanCan she is an expert teacher and burlesque act in her own right.  Viva provides unparalleled routines flavoured with all the essential showgirl moves  – from classic Moulin Rouge revue to high octane Las Vegas and Broadway spectacles  – she dazzles and impresses in equal measures.

With her famous legs and ‘ the best butt in burlesque’, Viva’s high kicks and callipygian trophies  are a visual treat you can’t afford to miss.

‘The Pendragon Prince’ is where a Knight of old comes to find his destiny, which happens to be a sword in a stone, or in this case a member of the audience holding it, the Prince finds it, tries to remove it can’t and then hears the voice of The Lady of the Lake, who says he can be King if he does something to please her, which turns out to be a striptease. After many slapstick moments all clothes are removed, the Lady of the Lake seems appeased but there’s a twist and the Prince does not only become a King but The King…Elvis!

Think 19th Century Music Hall with 21st Century attitude! This is a splendidly audacious burlesque double-act with the fabulously talented Jim Devereaux and Miss Kittie, governess of the Ministry of Burlesque. As a song and dance, character-comedy duo, they are an uproarious medley of variety and Brit Wit in the style of classical British burlesque where lampooning is all the rage and satire is really rather saucy…

mr-bMr B. The Gentleman Rhymer

On a one-man mission to introduce Hip-Hop to the Queen’s English, Mr. B is delighted to present Chap-Hop. Having spent the best part of a decade bringing some manners back to popular culture, this dopest of fellows will entertain and amuse you with his ingenious stylings. Aiming to dazzle with dignity, Mr. B takes to the stage with his Banjolele and stiff upper lip to perform ditties of pipe-smoking, high society, Cricket and sexual misadventure, as well as some more well-known pieces from the world of Hip-Hop, re-worked in true Chap-Hop fashion.

Yeah you heard right ‘a male burlesque dancer’ or ‘boylesque’. But this is no burlesque act like any other…  From bare-arsed chap wearing cowboy to streaking, beer swilling, genital-gesticulating tramp – you can expect all sorts of mad-cap jigging and character-stripping performed with more energy than a Labrador puppy on speed at Christmas whilst making away with the loo roll. With a rare ability to  astound and render an audience booth speechless and screaming at the same time,  clap along and whoop and cheer for  this – an absolute treasure of Britain’s burlesque industry.

Like a Victorian heroine of rebellious ambition, Kittie is Captain of the classical burlesque revival. As “the doyenne of feline femininity” (The List), she is a comedienne with prowess. Designing her shows to be truly provocative, she ensures they are both thought-provoking and aesthetically alluring. A thorough protagonist of 19th century showbiz spectacle, her international reputation and work in this form (and  her role in the emergence of the British burlesque industry) has set trends and notably raised the ‘barre‘ for her genre of speciality.

Honey’s quirky, comic and captivating performances have won her fans around London and the UK since 2008. Unafraid of casting a satirical burlesque eye on anything from religion to Margaret Thatcher, the burlesque world will never be safe again… Be sure to catch The Iron Lady of Burlesque as Honey sends up in loving tribute, our own Lady Thatcher in the infamous routine which took London’s burlesque scene by storm and brought it to a chuckling standstill.

Missy Malone is a heady cocktail of 1950’s bombshell and classic rock chick. As a rare beauty and a dedicated entertainer, she is a sophisticated ecdysiast with real prowess and a natural bump ‘n’ grinder who pays true homage to the Golden Age of American burlesque-striptease. Each routine is personalised with Missy’s own skills, quirks and dramatic theatrical flair where she takes the classic routines and turns them in to something very special indeed.

The neo-vaudevillian, the real life Disney villain, the gin-addled courtesan, the anti-christ of cabaret and the one and only waltzing cynic… Eccentric to international stages, Joe Black takes to shows in an almost cartoon-esque musical assault, sweeping the audience through deathly showtunes, stomping polkas and heart wrenching ballads. Mister Joe Black… armed with an accordion, a piano, and a voice with force like no other is ready to give you a show, that years of therapy couldn’t even help you forget. We’re very concerned…
